More than two hundred years in the future, climate change is no longer a theory, but a reality wreaking havoc on the environment.
Survival has only been achieved through the genetic manipulation of the species, particularly in humans, by blocking their emotions. An emotionally controlled human no longer poses a threat.
However, those who became aware of this manipulation dropped out of the system and formed The Dissidence. Natural humans in an invisible community outside of the civilization established by the ruling councilors who will eventually declare war on them, causing re-evolution.
The Dissidence will respond with its best weapon; by adapting. Something that seemed impossible in the face of genetic manipulation and extreme climatic conditions.
Clara Maestri will create the great schism, leaving the established world behind her to live and breathe the principles and the struggle of The Dissidence.
